Smart, Energy-Efficient Cooling for Modern Homes and Buildings
A VRF air conditioning system (Variable Refrigerant Flow) is an advanced climate control solution that uses a single outdoor unit to power multiple indoor units, allowing for individual zone control and enhanced energy efficiency. Known for its flexibility, quiet operation, and smart cooling capabilities, VRF systems are becoming increasingly popular in Singapore’s residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
At Newway, we’ve been delivering professional aircon solutions since 1987, making us a trusted name in customised climate systems for properties of all sizes.

What is a VRF Air Conditioning System?
A VRF air conditioning system (Variable Refrigerant Flow) is a highly efficient HVAC technology that uses one outdoor unit connected to multiple indoor units, each of which can operate independently. The system precisely controls the flow of refrigerant based on the cooling or heating needs of each indoor zone, making it ideal for buildings with varying usage patterns.
Unlike traditional split systems, which pair one outdoor unit with one indoor unit, or multi-split systems that offer limited indoor-to-outdoor ratios, a variable refrigerant flow system can support a large number of indoor units with greater flexibility and zoning control.
You may also come across the term VRV, which stands for Variable Refrigerant Volume. This is essentially the same technology—VRV is Daikin’s proprietary name for what the industry generally calls VRF.
Thanks to their energy efficiency, scalability, and design flexibility, VRF systems are widely used in Singapore’s offices, condominiums, hotels, and mixed-use developments.

Frequently Asked Questions
A VRF system (Variable Refrigerant Flow) uses one outdoor unit to control multiple indoor units, adjusting the refrigerant flow based on each room’s cooling or heating needs. It offers precise temperature control and energy savings.
VRF systems offer zoned cooling, energy efficiency, quiet operation, and design flexibility. They’re ideal for properties with varying room usage, allowing you to cool only the areas you need—helping lower electricity bills.
Yes, especially for larger homes, condos, or landed properties with multiple zones. It allows each room to have independent temperature settings while reducing energy use.
Installation timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the building, but most projects are completed within 3 to 7 days. Our team ensures a smooth process with minimal disruption.
Yes. Like all air conditioning systems, VRF units benefit from regular servicing to ensure efficiency, prevent breakdowns, and extend system lifespan. Newway offers scheduled maintenance packages for long-term care.
